Focus on the Family's program The Truth Project introduced some strong Christian authors I discovered I really like. One of those authors is Ravi Zacharias. I recently started his book
The End of Reason: A Response to the New Atheists. He writes in response to Sam Harris's
Letter to a Christian Nation, which I have not read, but I imagine this book will make sense anyway. I'm only a few pages into Zacharias's text, and I found this quote which says what I have often felt and observed. I thought I would share it here.
His unvarnished hatred for things religious is embellished with strong language and illustrations designed to convince the world that Christians in particular really are buffoons or imbeciles for believing in God. I have always found it fascinating how relativists who say they love the idea of tolerance ultimately reveal themselves to be among the most bigoted (14).
The best promotion for a certain ideal is consistency. The ability to be consistent is also the mark of truth, but that is another post.
